Bogoda Wooden Bridge
This bridge was build in Kandyan era‚ is the only bride in Sri Lanka which has a wooden roof. It is situated by the Bogoda Raja Maha viharaya‚ which was built by Great King Walagamba‚ a famous cave temple with ancient wall paintings. Bogoda Bridge was built on three large wooden beems placed across the Gallanda Oya without using nails. Bogoda Wooden bridge is the only bridge that is completly made out of wood.
Directions to Bogoda Wooden Bridge
Turn from Haliela junction in Colombo - Badulla main road to the Galauda road. Bogada Bridge is located after 3km from Jayagulla junction.
